Quick and Easy BBQ Steak Quesadillas

Go crazy over crispy tortillas stuffed with perfectly spiced and  superbly grilled steak, oozing with melted cheesy goodness. Our recipe for Quick & Easy BBQ Steak Quesadillas, featuring Old El Paso Thick 'n Chunky Medium Salsa, and fresh cilantro is a fiesta of flavour.   • 2 small striploin steaks (about 375 g total)
  • 1 tsp Longo’s Montreal Steak Spice
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup Old El Paso Thick ’n Chunky Medium Salsa
  • 8 Large Longo’s Flour Tortillas
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • Longo’s Sour Cream and jalapeño peppers (optional)


Sprinkle steaks with steak spice on both sides. Grill on oiled grill over medium-high heat for about 8 minutes, turning once, or until desired doneness. Remove to cutting board and let rest for 3 minutes. Chop and set aside.

Combine cheese and salsa.

Divide cheese mixture evenly over 4 of the tortillas. Sprinkle each with chopped steak and cilantro, if using. Top with remaining tortillas and press gently to seal.

Grill tortillas on oiled grill over medium heat for about 5 minutes, turning once, or until cheese starts to melt and tortillas are golden.

Cut each tortilla into quarters and serve with sour cream, jalapeño peppers and more salsa, if desired.

Tip: Substitute leftover grilled or cooked steak, chicken or pork to speed up this already quick dinner.
